My son got a sports locker. And his room and I thank him for it.
The excitement on my son’s face was palpable, when we drove up and saw the 6 foot high box standing on our driveway outside our garage. What he didn’t know but I did was that standing inside it was a PrimeTime™ locker by Gladiator® GarageWorks–an awesome college-sports-team themed welded steel storage locker. As an alum of the University of Pennsylvania, I root for the Quakers hard, but for the energy fix of big-time college sports, I’ve often had to go elsewhere to power conferences like The Big Ten, The SEC, The Big Twelve and The ACC.
Here, the world was my oyster in terms of the array of choices of teams available in PrimeTime™ Lockers, ranging from the UK Wildcats to the University of Michigan Wolverines. For me, the Fighting Irish symbolize long-standing excellence. They remind me of Rudy. And of Rocket Ismail. That was my choice for Jacob. (What would you choose?!)
We carted it in the house and up the stairs to his room together, where it nestled right next to his pop-a-shot basketball hoops, and put a perfect finishing touch on the “the boy cave.” In an unexpected clean-up the room session, we then crammed it full of the sports equipment lying all about his room: goalie gloves, shin-pads, balls, and even the skiis we had rented for the winter season.
This locker would be a perfect addition to any garage, game room, or even a home gym. The construction is sturdy. It even comes with a three-digit combo lock and a lifetime warranty. The bold colors and gleaning insignia really work.
Perhaps, in fact, they work a bit too well. Jacob thought it would be “perfect, if [he] could bring it to school to use instead of his locker there.” A worthy idea, for sure. For now, I like the affect it’s having on his room.
